Skiing, carving and snowboarding

Take the train direct in front of the Derby hotel entrance and you can reach our fabulous slopes of the Jungfrau Region in front of the Eiger North Face. There are 45 transporting facilities, 213 km of excellent prepared slopes and 50 km of adventurous sledging runs waiting for you!

Snowshoeing

Enjoy the peace of the mighty mountains away from the packed slopes. Hike through deep untouched snow and explore the white world like an Eskimo.

Sledging/Tobogganing

Explore the world of sledging in Grindelwald. More than 20 km of sledging runs are waiting for you to conquer them. You have the choice between Bussalp, First or Alpiglen – Brandegg. Try a downhill race on one of these typical “Velogemel” of Grindelwald, a traditional, wooden “bike” on blades. Don’t forget to stop over in one of the many cosy inns along the runs! Or top off a marvelous day with a hearty fondue in our cellar restaurant CAVA!

Cross-country skiing

In the valley of Grindelwald there are, conditions permitting, 25 km of cross-country ski runs. There is also a nice run on Bussalp, the sunny hill of Grindelwald.

Hiking in the snow

Do you love the sound of the snow crunching under your feet?  Do you enjoy the sun shining on your face? Then you will love hiking in the mountains. You will find well prepared tracks on First and Kleine Scheidegg/Männlichen.

Curling

Give it a try and you will find great fun on the ice rinks! Don’t forget to come back to the hotel for dinner! There are four ice rinks in the sport centre, five walking minutes away from the Hotel Derby.
